My Frustrations that I feel like I'm being jailed
I'm about done. I don't know how others would have the found patience or reserve to be pubished but I am running out of those and time. Soon I will not be on this earth any more because I refuse to be an old fossil before I can reap the benifits of being a published author. My patience is gone! I understand that is not fair to others however, giving me a small bit of hope and then kicking me in the teeth is not a good way to deal with me either. Oh, and I'm sorry, being published posthumously is NOT AN OPTION. This is MY work, I enjoy it, no one else! If I die, which will be soon if nothing happens with my new novel, then all my writing ceases and what is out there will disappear as to what my will says. I'm sorry, but nobody else will reap the benifits of something that right now people out there tend to thing it is not good enough to be published. If it is not good enough for you people then in reality you don't deserve it...EVER! I'm done working crappy jobs to keep ends meet while staying away from home for weeks on end while I'm stuck schmucking around in places I don't want to be in with people I really cannot stand! I am DONE! If nothing happens soon, everything is over and nearly everyone and everything is at fault. I know I am good, God damnit, why the fuck won't anyone see it?! Listen Like Fiends is the title of the book out there. Get it at amazon.com and make a 7 year old boy happy because his father won't take himself out and forsake him everything even though even God itself has forsaken me...time and time and time and time again. again...... I'm done. Current Mood: enraged | | Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005 | | 9:03 am |
It's a learning experience
Well, I'm going through my trials and tribulations with my newly published book. While I'm finding out that many people are easily ordering it online, back here at home it's really hard to let people know about it. I've contacted four local newspapers about it. The one main daily that Gannet owns and operates, a mail in weekly paper, and two entertainment periodicles, one being based in Detroit, the other one brand new, only a monthly, and based in my town. The last one of the four is the only one who has bothered to contact me. It gets better. A local national chain bookstore "promised" me a book signing when my book was finally out. Now they've changed their words and said "we'll see about a signing." I went across the street to their competing chain and was told my book won't be touched because it has no buyer's insurance on it. I've given up on a signing. Why waste my time. So, as it stands, my first book is a real sleeper. One that probably won't wake up. When I become professionally published, this first book will not carry on in it's current form. I will force it out of print. So those of you who can get a hold of it, please do. I don't know how long I'll keep it out there. Only the fates know that. Anyone who has amazon.com available in their country can order a hardcopy of my book for a very reasonable price. I've shopped around for it, I've seen the stuff. Unfortunately one country/continent that's shafted is Australia. There's a few online websites, but all of them only make the conversion from British Pounds Sterling. That's highly expensive. On the other hand most other countries only have Amazon. Like Canada. Like I said, this is a learning experience. TTFN Current Mood: annoyed | | Tuesday, May 24th, 2005 | | 5:14 pm |
New Book
There it is to the right. That's the cover of the book and it'll be out in three weeks. Here's the ISBNs 1-4134-9338-6 for the Hardcover 1-4134-9337-8 for the Softcover Ordering copies are easy online at www.xlibris.com Yeah yeah yeah, it's so a commercial, but I cannot help that I'm as giddy as a schoolkid about this and as soon as I get my copy in my hand. It's even copywrited in my name. I know most will say "big deal" but it is to me. I can see someone think they are pretty slick in using something from this book and that copywrite says I can come down and ask for my money or whatever they gained for using my stuff. I haven't had that power before. Granted I'm auctioning off a signed copy at NEGLECt as I'm saying here as I will say there, when I am professionally published this book that you see will no longer be in print. Now granted the stories will be published elsewhere in one form or another but not in this particular volume. For certain ten years from now you'll be kicking yourselves. Exasperated!
So I've decided to rant for my first entry. BLEA! I compiled a lot of my stories into a book this year and decided to self publish it thourgh an on demand publisher. Hopefully it will be officially out by GenCon. But the troubles these people have been giving me makes me not want to do this again. First they screwed up the color scheme of the book. The text was the color the background needed to be and the background was the color the text needed to be. They also screwed up my pen name. Of course they blamed this on me. But the lady said it would be taken cared of free of charge. Well good! However: She changed the colors and she changed the name. They even changed the spine width I was having a problem with. It was 1 3/4 inches wide. On 72,000 words I had a hard time believing that it warranted a 1 3/4 inch wide spine. Now it's around a half inch. Much better and much more affordable for all you Cammies. However something else has been screwed up. She changed the title. You see ever since this company has gone into pre production they have been desperately trying to change the title. Apparently they are not comfortable with the word "fiends." Personally I don't care. I paid them the money there fore they do what I tell them to do with my book. Still, just adding that "r" has put me into an anger that most people around me cannot believe. So now I wait until Monday morning until I can fix this problem...once again! Most definately I am not going to these people again. The galley will be posted here as soon as they fix it. Hopefully the editor is smart enough to fix it too! Current Mood: annoyed |
